Our History

Some key dates…

1952 : grouping of several (mainly municipal) laboratories under the name IANESCO.
1995 : separation from the site at La Rochelle (cereals).
1998 : fusion/absorption with the Chemical Regional Centre of Innovation and Technology Transfer (CRITT-Chimie) which was created in 1985: the association takes the name IANESCO-Chimie.
2003 : creation of a subsidiary for atmospheric emissions under the name CREATMOS (Contrôle des REjets ATMOSphériques).
2006 : move into new premises owned by IANESCO.
2014 : installation of CREATMOS in the IANESCO premises.
2016 : change of status: IANESCO becomes a SAS.

The Institute of Chemical Analysis and Tests – West (Institut d’ANalyses et d’ESsais en Chimie de l’Ouest – IANESCO) is created in 1952 by the grouping of 3 laboratories (the Vienne departmental agricultural analysis laboratory, the La Rochelle municipal laboratory and the Vienne departmental mechanical and materials test laboratory). In 1995, IANESCO separates from its cereal analysis branch at La Rochelle which becomes Atlantique Analyses.

IANESCO, and the Chemical Regional Centre of Innovation and Technology Transfer (CRITT-Chimie) for the Poitou-Charentes region, join together on 25th March 1998. This organisation becomes IANESCO-CHIMIE.

In 2003, atmospheric pollution and working environment monitoring activity is transferred to its subsidiary CREATMOS.

In 2006, after one year of building, IANESCO moves into its new premises offering a high-quality workspace, ensuring optimum working conditions for its personnel.

The laboratory is made up of scientific experts and qualified staff (68 engineers and technicians), provided with high-performance equipment (LC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, ICP-MS), and with an experience recognised by its clients and the professional world for many decades.

The technical and organisational competence of IANESCO-CHIMIE is also recognised by the by French Accreditation Committee (Comité Français d’Accréditation – COFRAC) and the French governmental ministries for the environment and health..
